BidNinja Shield ("we", "our", "us") operates the BidNinja Shield Chrome extension, the website at bidninja.bid, and the bidninja.bid backend services. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We try to write it like a human, not a lawyer.
Data We Collect
Google account email, when you sign in. Used to identify your account and contact you about your subscription.
Job listings you score. When the extension scans Freelancer.com pages, the visible job data (title, description, budget, bid count, client rating) is sent to our AI scoring service. We store the scored result against your account so your dashboard reflects it.
Your bids and outcomes. Job title, URL, amount, status (sent / won / lost), and any earnings you mark.
Your Freelancer.com public profile (tagline, summary, skills, portfolio items). The extension fetches this from your authenticated Freelancer session about once a week, with your permission via the extension, to tune AI scoring and proposal personalization. We do not store your Freelancer cookies or session tokens on our servers.
Chat conversations. If you use the chat widget on bidninja.bid or email hello@bidninja.bid, we store the message text to provide replies and improve the assistant. We do not link these to advertising profiles.
Telegram chat ID and username, if you pair our Telegram bot. Used only to deliver HOT-job alerts. No other Telegram data is read.
Stripe customer ID and subscription ID for paid users, so the billing portal works. We never receive your card data; Stripe handles that.
Anonymous usage analytics via Plausible (cookieless, privacy-friendly, no cross-site tracking).

Third-Party Services We Use
To deliver the service, your data may pass through these providers:

Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. We share data only with the service providers listed above as strictly required to deliver the product, and as required by law.
Data Retention
Account data (email, plan, settings): retained as long as your account exists.
Scored jobs and bid records: retained as long as your account exists, so your dashboard analytics work.
Chat conversations and emails: auto-deleted after 90 days.
Freelancer profile sync data: overwritten on each weekly sync; deleted when you delete your account.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@bidninja.bid. We delete within 7 days.
Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You have the right to:
Access any personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and data
Export your data in a portable format
Opt out of any non-essential processing

Security
Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS. Data at rest in our Supabase database is encrypted. We use industry-standard authentication (Google OAuth, JWT, scoped API keys). We do not log raw passwords, payment data, or Freelancer.com session cookies anywhere on our servers.
Children's Privacy
BidNinja Shield is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify users of material changes via email or a banner on the dashboard. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
